Co-designing nature-based early interventions with young people- Healthy Young Minds

Healthy Young Minds (HYM) is a collaboration between researchers at the University of South Wales, the University of the Highlands and Islands and Dundee University. It was developed in partnership with CAMHS (NHS Highland), Ewen’s Room and Kinlochlovin’. The project is supported by Trees for Life and the Highland Green Health Partnership.

The programme aims to promote mental well-being, increase resilience and reduce anxiety through engagement with nature and local greenspaces.

Working alongside researchers from the University of South Wales (USW), pupils from Highland schools have been exploring how spending time in nature can improve wellbeing, help young people cope with difficult times, and support the mental health of those living in remote and rural communities. More information is available in the latest press release from Trees for Life and University of South Wales about the HYM project.
