The Nature of Scotland Awards celebrates the outstanding people and projects that protect Scotland’s species and habitats. A massive well done to all projects and individuals shortlisted and particularly to those Highland based initiatives.
We are delighted to celebrate that Jack Soe-Paing, from Space 2 Be, has been shortlisted for ‘Young Champion of Nature’. It’s great to see recognition of the remarkable leadership, enthusiasm and inspiration he has provided in enabling young people from within his community to access green spaces and opportunities for connection with nature, through the Space 2 Be Wilderness project in Lochaber, to support their learning, mental health and wellbeing.
Jack says, “I had an amazing time at the awards ceremony on Thursday, it was awesome to be part of such an event, especially given my nomination for the young champion for nature category. I never thought that I would ever be in this position and it’s incredibly surreal seeing my name among the others shortlisted.”
The awards night will be in Edinburgh on 17th November- good luck Jack!
